Every message,on tone.

Cadence is an authenticated AI copywriting workspace for service and marketing communications. It drafts. A human decides. The brand book, not the prompt, is what holds the line.

See how it works
Scroll down
00 Why this exists

High volume.Zero room for drift.

A marketing and service team writes the same shapes of message all day — across three languages, four channels and a regulator who reads every claim. Generic AI writing tools are built English-first and know nothing about your brand book, your product names, or your compliance rules.

The gap

Prompting drifts

Output quality depends far more on what the model is grounded in than on how the prompt is worded. A maintained knowledge base is what keeps copy on tone.

The gap

English-first tools

Weak on HK Traditional Chinese plus Simplified Chinese with preserved technical terminology, and blind to service comms like claim letters and payment notices.

The gap

No paper trail

When a claim slips through, nobody can reconstruct which guidance, which model and which version produced it.

Position: Cadence is assistive, not autonomous. It generates draft copy for human review, edit and sign-off. It does not auto-publish or auto-send any communication.

00 The shape of the product

Three layers, and onlyone of them guesses.

Layer 1 · Deterministic

Structured brand guidance

A reviewed brand book becomes typed fields: voice pillars, preferred and prohibited terminology, contextual tones, an exact five-token palette, typography and imagery rules.

Layer 2 · Generative

Grounded generation

The model receives system and compliance rules, factual knowledge, the selected brand profile, then the brief tone — in that order. It writes; it never decides.

Layer 3 · Review checks

Independent validation

Terminology checks are pure code, not prompt guidance. Contextual tone is assessed with evidence and a suggested correction. A named human reviews the evidence.

02

Demo accounts use the same email and password sign-in as other users. Demo credentials are kept private; access requires a valid account.

01
> Act one

One system. Three jobs.

Cadence separates authorization from experience. A security role controls what a user may do. A business persona changes what the workspace recommends and emphasizes. A job title never silently grants a permission.

Assign persona CMO Marketing manager Customer service
1.1 Users & access

Role and personaare different columns.

1Role — owner, admin, copywriter, reviewer. Enforced in the database by row-level security, not just in the app.
2Experience — general, CMO, marketing manager, customer service. Changes emphasis, labels, recommendations and defaults. Grants nothing.
3Invite, promote, deactivate with a 7-day invitation TTL. Only a SHA-256 hash of the token is ever stored. The last active owner cannot be removed.

1.2 The CMO opens on risk

Not a blank page.A review queue.

1Review queue · Needs attention — drafts waiting for review, and changes requested or exceptions open.
2Brand-risk exceptions — explainable findings sitting in current versions right now.
3Active brand standard — which profile version is being applied to every new content check.
4Review-first templates — Compliance Rewrite, Localize, Repurpose, Knowledge Check surface ahead of creation workflows.

cadence / app / drafts demo capture
Drafts list with status chips, owner, channel, current version number and per-row actions
1.4 The work itself

Status, owner,version, channel.

1Drafts, Reviews and Archived are the same list under three filters. Reviews is simply status = ready for review.
2Every row carries its current version number, the brief's communication type and channel, and who owns it.
3Archiving is soft — archived drafts leave the working list but can still be opened, and only then permanently deleted.
02
> Act two

The brand bookbecomes software.

A PDF nobody reads turns into typed, versioned, hash-stamped guidance that generation and checks both depend on — after a human has read every field and pressed Activate.

Upload Verify Extract Human review Activate Archive
2.1 Ingestion

The file isnot trusted.

1PDF, DOCX, Markdown or TXT, 10 MB maximum. Scanned PDFs are rejected — a pasted-guidance fallback is offered instead of pretending to OCR.
2The browser never uploads through the app server. Cadence issues a random, organization-scoped signed target and the bytes go straight to a private bucket.
3Then the server re-checks everything — the object path belongs to this organization, exact size, MIME type, file signature magic bytes, and a SHA-256 that must match the browser's.
4Extraction is capped at 60,000 characters and wrapped as untrusted source material, so a brand book can never smuggle instructions into the model.
5Failure cleans up after itself. A rejected upload leaves no profile, no knowledge row and no staged object. Re-uploading the same file is refused as a duplicate hash.

brand profile · review before activation demo capture
Editable brand profile review form — brand name, voice pillars, writing do and do-not lists, contextual tones, terminology, palette
2.2 Schema v1

Prose in.Typed fields out.

1Voice — pillars, plus explicit do and do-not lists.
2Terminology — preferred terms with the aliases they replace, and prohibited terms each carrying a reason and a suggested replacement.
3Contextual tones — marketing, customer service and executive are separate. One voice, adjusted for the moment.
4Visual — five semantic colour tokens, typography stack, imagery guidance.
5Provenance — source filename, SHA-256, extraction confidence and any extraction warnings, all stored with the profile.

Say this: “Extraction never silently changes live generation. It creates a draft profile, which a human reviews and explicitly activates.”

2.3 Governed states

Draft. Published.Default. Archived.

1Activation is one serialized database transaction holding an advisory lock, so two admins cannot both publish a new default.
2Exactly one published profile is the organization default — enforced by a partial unique index, not by application code.
3Published rows are immutable. Identity fields, source hash and publish metadata can never be edited afterwards.
4A profile in use by active drafts cannot be archived, and the underlying brand-book source record is protected from the generic Knowledge Hub routes.

2.4 More than one brand

Chosen on the brief.Never inferred.

1Several published brands coexist. The author picks one when the draft is created; the selection is persisted on the brief.
2That same profile then follows everything — generation, refinement, localization, repurposing, tone analysis, readiness checks, visual prompts, controlled colours and the reproducibility snapshot.
3Historical work does not move. Publishing a new brand never rewrites drafts that were created under the old one.

3.3 The draft workspace

One screen that knowsthe whole package.

1“Brand profile applied: Northstar Assurance v1” — provenance is stated on the screen, not buried in a log.
2Writing metrics — word count, long sentences, repeated words, average sentence length, browser spellcheck. CJK-aware.
3Live tone chip — “Engaging, direct, and reassuring”, assessed against the brand's marketing tone.
4Campaign package — Copy, Visual, Review, Comments, Export. 92/100 readiness here; each tile flags when it needs a human.
5A real document editor — headings, lists, quotes, links, font sizes, undo/redo. Saving creates a new immutable version.

Localize

Switch the brief language to Traditional or Simplified Chinese and regenerate. Approved terminology is preserved rather than translated word-for-word.

Repurpose

Switch the channel — a letter becomes an SMS notice that respects that channel's length constraints.

Guardrail

Generation is blocked while there are unsaved edits: “Save edited version before running generation actions.”

3.5 Companion imagery

Optional imagery,on a short leash.

1Prompted from the brand profile — imagery guidance and palette are injected; the author adds scene, style and framing notes.
2Fourteen aspect ratios, four sizes. Assets are written to a private per-organization, per-draft storage path that the database re-computes and verifies.
3One asset is selected as the package companion. Human visual review is an explicit readiness item, not an assumption.
4We say this out loud: colours inside a generated image remain advisory. Image models cannot guarantee exact per-pixel palette fidelity.
draft workspace · visual assets demo capture

controlled brand output · campaign card exact
Controlled campaign card rendered in exact Northstar Assurance palette with the generated image inside the controlled image slot
3.6 Evidence for human review

The frame isnot generated.

Two deterministic SVG layouts — a marketing campaign card and a customer-service alert — are rendered by code from the validated palette. The same renderer supplies both the preview and the download, so what you see is byte-identical to what you ship.

Primary #12304A Secondary #1F8A83 Accent #F4A261 Background #FFFFFF Text #17212B

The honest line: “Exact palette fidelity is guaranteed for the controlled SVG frame, text, background and accents. Any AI-generated image placed inside the image slot remains advisory.”

3.7 The second layout

It will tell you whenyour own brandis hard to read.

1Service alert layout — white reading surface, navy text, the teal status marker, exactly as the brand book specifies.
2Real contrast maths, surfaced. “Background on Secondary has a 4.18:1 contrast ratio; use at least 4.5:1.” The renderer does not quietly ship an unreadable combination.
3Missing or unsafe tokens fall back to neutrals and raise a warning rather than inventing a colour.
4Truncation is disclosed too — “Body was truncated to fit the selected layout.”

Nothing shipswithout a human.

This is where a demo usually shows the happy path. We are going to show you the draft that is wrong, and watch the system catch it — with evidence, and with a suggested correction.

Off-brand claim Deterministic terminology Contextual tone CMO decides
draft workspace · service notice demo capture
Service maintenance notice containing the sentence Guaranteed and risk-free protection for every customer
4.1 One sentence too far

“Guaranteed andrisk-free protectionfor every customer.”

The rest of the notice is clean, calm and useful. One sentence uses two terms the Northstar Assurance brand book explicitly prohibits — and in insurance, that sentence is the one that costs you.

1The tone chip turns red immediately: “Informative and reassuring, but compromised by prohibited promotional claims.”
2Package readiness drops to 25/100 and the Review tile flags for attention.
4.2 Independent validation

Evidence.Reason. Fix.

1“Applied brand profile · version 1 · score 25/100” — the finding names the exact profile version that produced it.
2Every issue quotes the evidence — “Guaranteed”, “risk-free” — with the reason from the brand book and a suggested replacement.
3The correction is written out: “Remove this sentence entirely or rephrase it to align with our commitment to security without using prohibited terms.”
4Reviewers can inspect saved evidence and rerun checks. Assigned reviewers can check the current saved version without receiving editing permission. Archived drafts remain read-only.

Say this: “This is independent validation, not merely prompt guidance. Cadence records which brand version was used and explains why the content is off-brand.”

RBAC Knowledge Models Audit Isolation
5.1 What the model is grounded in

Channel templates

Per-channel constraints are data: SMS 320 characters, push title 60 / body 140, Instagram caption 2,200, LINE body 500.

Brand books are separated

A brand-book source record is protected — the generic Knowledge Hub routes cannot edit, archive or delete it. Lifecycle only.

5.2 Model-agnostic by design

Swap the model without touching code.

Per-organization configs

Provider, model id, display name, default parameters as JSON, and which communication type it serves.

Allowed roles per model

A copywriter can be given a cheaper model and an admin a stronger one.

Soft disable only

System defaults are read-only; disabling writes an audit event rather than deleting a row.

Workspace defaults

Default locale, default tone, and an optional “Require reviewer handoff by default” toggle — shipped off, switched on per organization.

5.3 Reconstructable

Who, what, whichmodel, which version.

1Every generation, export, brand-profile change, member change, model change and knowledge edit writes an audit event with the actor and full metadata.
2Audit rows cannot be forged or deleted from the client. The table has a read policy and no write policy — only the server can append.
3Filter by date, actor, draft, model, event type and communication type, with a prompt/completion/total token roll-up on top.
4Generation-run snapshots store the input, the output, the prompt hash, the knowledge sources used, latency, usage and the complete brand profile with its source and canonical hashes.
cadence / app / settings / audit owners & admins
Audit page with filters, usage summary tiles and an events table listing generation, visual, export and brand profile events
5.4 Security posture

Isolation lives in thedatabase, not the UI.

Row-level security scopes organization data. Dedicated SQL suites exercise tenant isolation, permissions and conflicting writes in a disposable local database. Membership helpers and transaction guards support those boundaries.

Tenant isolation

Authenticated application access is scoped to active organization membership. Database policies enforce that boundary independently of navigation and visible controls.

Server-only secrets

The browser only ever holds the anon key. The service-role key, the AI key and the testing credentials are import-guarded so they cannot be bundled into client code.

Verified, not trusted

Upload paths, sizes, MIME types, magic bytes and SHA-256 digests are all re-checked server-side. Storage paths are re-computed by a trigger and rejected on mismatch.

Owner protection

Admins can never create, modify or delete an owner row, and the last active owner cannot be removed.

Governed RPCs

Brand-profile create, activate and archive are service-role only — explicitly revoked from public, anon and authenticated.

Private buckets

Three buckets, all private. Signed URLs expire in an hour; brand-book sources cannot be mutated through the storage API at all.

Reproducibility

Readiness results retain the profile id, version, source hash and whether contextual tone was actually evaluated.

A brief's brand is chosen at creation and cannot be switched afterwards. Personas never drive authorization. No vector retrieval or free-form template editor yet.

Deliberately out of scope for v1

No integration with send or dispatch systems, no automated approval or publishing, no connection to agency campaign engines.

Data region, PII handling, retention periods and prompt-snapshot redaction are documented production blockers to agree with the client, not hidden ones.

Tests

Unit and route suites cover generation, review, permissions and version integrity.

RLS

Tenant isolation and concurrent-write checks passed in disposable local PostgreSQL.

Build

Production-build validation checks the assembled pages and API routes.

Types

Lint and type checking are part of the application verification command.

Earlier demo rehearsal

Brand selection, saved-draft context and export responses were checked in a curated demonstration. This is historical evidence for that scenario, not acceptance of every client workflow.

Current reviewer workflow

Reviewer roles retain restricted creation and brand-management access. Assigned reviewers can inspect saved content and rerun checks without editing it; archived drafts remain read-only.

Browser coverage

Public responsive journeys have Chromium coverage at desktop, tablet and mobile widths. Authenticated journeys require controlled accounts and fixtures; skipped or mocked steps have separate limits.

Deployment acceptance: local SQL/RLS and concurrency checks have passed. Hosted authentication, mail, storage and complete client workflows still need their own acceptance evidence. Test counts and skipped journeys belong to the dated verification report, not a permanent product promise.
